Meagan’s birthday at The Studio by JUICE.
This was a mindbending and super charming wine that’s a blend of, get this: 60% Pinot Noir and….. 40% Pinot Gris…????? Hahaha what a fucking strange combination.

In the glass it was bewildering: a super super pale clear pink even lighter than many roses I’ve seen around. My immediate thought was, oh no… this wasn’t what I had wanted for my third bottle.
Then came the surprises: on the nose, it was a rich combination of some darker red fruit and strawberry. On the palette, this was fresh and zippy, yet somehow had a distinct richness and palette. The closest thing I could think of was almost like one of those calpis drinks there were refreshingly light but yet had a light milkiness to it. On the exhale, this really came forward in a milky buttery note. Super super delightfully interesting.
THAT SAID. The Pinot Gris really came up at the end of the finish – it left this twang of vegetal note on the tongue and exhale that I really didn’t enjoy. Pity.
Giving this a 4.0 in recognition of how super fucking interesting and entertaining this was. Would try again but unlikely to go seek it out just because of that finish at the end.
