At Ben Fatto dinner with the EDB group.

Yum! This was a surprise outperformer. One of the wine publications had covered this as a good value 1er cru Chablis for sub-$100, so I thought I would give it a shot. This was delicious and such a good buy!

In the glass: super pale gold / hay.
On the nose: fresh off the bottle, there’s a distinct flintiness. Pure intense minerality and wet stones. Some rich yellow fruit and citrus.

On the palate: oooh. A surprisingly rich and silky palate. Mid+ acidity. Just the tiniest of residual sugar which was delicious and very coherent with the nose.

Overall, super pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this Chablis. At $85 a bottle? Easy choice and a crowd pleaser I reckon. This vintage tasted like a warm vintage given the intensity of fruit and residual sugar, but I’m not sure. Love the minerality yum.
