With Hart, Brandon and QH at Jaan.
I need you to understand that this was the perfect wine. It was insane. But first – Brandon brought this out from his stash – it might not have been kept in perfect condition, the label was mangled, and we were seriously worried it might be corked. But no. Let me tell you this was a perfect wine.
Imagine a 30 year old wine that had such great starting fruit and was made so well that it somehow still had peak freshness, high acidity that has over time become perfectly rounded. Tannins that were still grippy but smooth. On entry into the mouth, it just spreads and coats the palette with this silkiness.
Pure red fruits and strawberry and raspberry – just the nose beautiful nose that’s wide and delicate. Loooooong finish as the wine went down the hatch and lingered on.
I’m not kidding when I say I still dream of the wine. Perfect score.
