I dream of tasting Poggio’s Brunello, but their rossos are no slouch. In fact, I would very easily think this was a high quality Brunello. We’ve had the 2019 previous at Park90 and it was delicious.

In the glass, this was a bright ruby with mid- body.
On the nose: the most noticeable and biggest distinction from the 2019, was balance of oak: while the 2019 was heavy on a very caramel nose, this was more rich vanilla oak, with dark cherries, notes of port. There’s a density and concentration in the nose. Very super mild leather.
On the palate: high acidity, grippy tannins (that could benefit with a bit more age).
With aeration, the vanilla oakiness receded, and both aromatic spices (cloves!!!!) and sweet dried fruits intensified.
This was a delicious delicious rosso. Perhaps not one of elegance, but this was an intense and well balanced rosso. Just delicious.
