Montevertine's Le Pergole Torte. 2011 750ml, and a 2016 1.5L.

One of my little side quest is to build a library of LPT. The grail for me had been the 2016: it’s the vintage of recent decades, and so, so painfully rare and hyper expensive. I’d given up on it.

Somehow, I found myself at a restaurant for dinner, and noticed they had the LPTs. Not only that. A 2016 magnum. I ended up chatting with the Italian owner, who was stunned that I was familiar with the wine. We chatted, gushed over the winemaker, and I asked him for a deal. The rest was history. I’m so so happy.
