Wow. Spectacular.

The last time I tried a Valentini, I had antibiotics tongue and couldn’t taste things properly. This time was an absolute pleasure.

In the glass: bright gold, clear body.

On the nose: candidly, Valentini’s nose off the glass hasn’t been amazing. It’s a little, “small”. Fresh off the bottle: significant flinty matchsticks, reduction. Green apples. Red apples. Slight sweetness. Citrus. Significant softening of the reduction with air.

On the palate: high acidity. Mid finish. Fresh.
On the exhale: this was the magic. Just wow. Extremely aromatic. Flinty. Minerality. Apricot. Apples. Hi-chew grape. Just ABSOLUTELY stunning and complex and delicious.

I really really enjoyed Tiberio’s Trebbiano, which seems to be commonly known as “like Valentini, but cheaper.”

Unfortunately, that is simply untrue. The Valentini is on a completely different tier than the Tiberio, and is the pinnacle of Trebbiano. While the Tiberio is bright, citrusy, zesty and laser focused, the Valentini has a multi dimension complexity.

Just spectacular. This thing with age would be wild.
