This was the shocking out-performer for the night lmao.
Sean got this as a half-drunk bottle from a wine merchant, and it had sat in his fridge for the past week and a half (with a basic vacuum cap on).
I’m not gonna lie: I had zero regard for the wine, and thought it was gonna be terrible. I was wrong.

In the glass dark dull full bodied garnet.

On the nose: this was pureeeeee Blackcurrant and blueberries. Aromatic. Good concentration and purity of fruit. Very mild oak and enjoyable cedar lift at the top.

On the palate: unfortunately this is probably where it showed it’s opened-age. Body was mid+. Despite the beautiful nose, the end of the finish was unfortunately very noticeable flat and had an off flavor.

I’m giving this a 4.1, based on the assumption that the off taste was purely from the excessive time in the fridge, and not a flaw from its winemaking. Shiok
