First time trying this wine!
In the glass: again, this was a dark deep maroon with distinct garnet hues. Full bodied. Concentrated.
On the nose: wew. Big intense nose of blackcurrant and plums. Pencil lead, cedar. A certain smokiness, kinda like black tea. Tons of new oak, spices.
On the palate: just lush, rich, savory. Palate coating. Silkily dense. A finish that just lingered and kept going. Full bodied, yet fresh. What a beautiful palate. My gosh. Tannins were distinct, but surprisingly smooth even fresh out of the bottle with no real aeration.
This is a big boy Pauillac – powerful, dense and well oaked, beautifully complex and balanced. Just damn good.
