Brandon kindly offered the last of the bottle to us.
This is a spectacular, and utterly unconventional Pinot noir.

In the glass: this was an odd dark brownish maroon. Concentrated. Cloudy. I assume this is an unfiltered wine.
On the nose: mild red cherries and plums. INTENSE, wide, overflowing nose of aromatic Christmas spices, an almost incense-like fragrance. I thought it was hints of stemminess, but it isn’t quite that either. I don’t quite understand what I’m smelling, but it’s intensely aromatic, high minerality, multi layered, complex.
On the palate: bone dry. A fresh light body despite the seemingly high extraction in the glass. Shockingly looooong finish, with a high intensity of flavors that spreads along the palate. I would however say that the tannins were surprisingly grippy on this Pinot.
Overall, this is one of those wines that I come out of not knowing what I actually experienced. But my brain is telling me it was intensely pleasurable. Wow.
