With the crew at The Humble Pit.

What a surprising little Pauillac. Aerated in the bottle for 2.5 hours.

In the glass: deep dark ruby. Mid+ body.

On the nose: so much red berries and cherries! Not really much of any blackcurrant or even graphite that’s so distinct with most Pauillacs. Maybe some blackberries? I can’t tell if the BBQ smoke was messing with my nose, but I smelled a lot of hay and incense, with minerality. It’s actually very delicate and pretty; not the typical powerful wine. That said, this wine needs ALOT of air for the fruits to intensify and come forward. The in-bottle aeration was insufficient.

On the palate: mid acidity, mid finish that does drop off a little abruptly. Mid- body that’s delicate, yet with a certain intensity of fruit.

I wasn’t expecting such a delicate and pretty wine. Enjoyed it. Not a great value in particular though.
