I am stunned at how good this was. Wow. Idk how I’ve never tasted this winemaker’s wine before.

In the glass: rich ruby with a tinge of maroon. Touch of garnet around the rim.

On the nose: first impressions was barnyard funk that dissipated with time. Next was the distinct VA – this HAS to be Italian. Rich sweet blackcurrant. Balanced oak at the background, with a tiny touch of vanilla at deep inhale. The wine needed time in the decanter: as it breathed, there was this earthiness and licorice. Leather. Just so complex, but everything just floating in balance.

On the palate: oh my. SO fresh and elegant. Despite the high intensity of flavor, the wine was simultaneously super fresh and juicy and bright. Mid++ acidity. Touch grippy but fully resolved tannins.

I’m actually stunned at how good the wine was. Complex, amazing purity of fruits, super balanced. Stunner.
