With Hart, James and Zi at the @emidiopepe tasting dinner.
Rich. Round. And plush. I have a bunch of the 2020s, but I don’t think I’ll get to touch them for many more years. From the other 1 of the 2 oldest plots. I believe this was more silt dominant, with better water retention, and harvested the latest.

In the glass: deep rich ruby. This also had a purple tinge to it, but appeared more red than the Branella.
On the nose: funnily enough, fresh off the bottle and tasted side by side, I thought the Casa Pepe had a more aromatic lift than the Branella. Also less funk. This was also a much richer and denser nose of dark berries and tinge of blueberries. Extremely primary. With air, the nose got darker, richer, and plusher.
On the palate: very different from the Branella. This was round, soooo plush, silky, even with the tannin structure. Palate coating. Long finish. Very very primary. Mid+ acidity. Dark and brooding.
Delicious but deserves to sleep for several more years
