On the nose: blue toned, mixed with blackcurrants and sweet oak. Touch of cedar. I don’t know why, but the nose never really opened up no matter how much air it had in the glass. Wine stayed closed for most parts.
On the palate: mid+ intensity, a certain silkiness and a whole lot of freshness on the palate.
That said, I note a touch of alcohol heat on the exhale.
This was an odd one for me. The 2012 Poyferre came roaring outta the bottle with the most intoxicating nose. This just poked out a little and stayed hidden. Leaving this unrated for now.
