4.0. Pazo Senorans Albarino 'Seleccion de Anada' 2012.

With the Bali crew at my home. Bought the 2012, after being blown away by the fantastic 2013. But alas, the 2012 is not quite the same.

I chose to serve the 2012 slightly warmer this time – probably closer to 16-18 C like a red.

On the nose: mineral, lemon, almost Riesling-like. The problem was that the nose’s aromatics never quite bloom or open up the way the 2013 did – I wonder if I fucked it up by choosing to serve it warmer, or if the food overwhelmed it. (As a side note, I don’t think the Korean food we ordered did the wines justice – they definitely messed up my tasting throughout the evening).

Body was a rich golden hue.

In any case, on the palette, I enjoyed the high acidity, the same silkiness on the tongue and medium finish. That’s definitely still my favorite part of the wine.

Still have a bottle in the fridge – gonna hold and try it out with more delicate food + serve at colder temp next.
