With Hart and her Indon friends.

In the glass: this was a richer and darker shade of red that the usual bright garnet of most Brunello.
Fresh off the bottle, in the nose: the first couple notes that stood out to me were a distinct red fruit, and a lot of minerality and a tiny touch of smoke. Nose was closed and flat. mild oak.
On the palate, very grippy tannins and HIGH acidity. Surprisingly, in spite of being 14.5% alc (warm vintage), the alcohol was super well integrated and in fact tasted closer to 13.5% tangy cherry on exhale. However, the tannins and acids tasted way out of balance

with aggressive swirling and aerating in the glass, everything came into balance. The nose developed to become noticeably richer with the fruits and wood emerging stronger. the palette rounded off more and became much more pleasant. What I liked about it was that the wine never came close to tasting over oaked at all.

overall, this wine needs quite a bit more age, and definitely a big dose of aeration. wish i had more time to let it sit
