This was the wine of the night for me, by far.

Off the bottle into the glass with no decant: this was a mid ruby with just the touch of age around the rim. The thing that struck me was the nose – even without any air, there was a deep intensity to the nose: I smelled a rich red fruit, mix of red currant, dark cherries, super gentle oak nestled perfectly in the background. There is more to the nose but I struggle to explain why I found it so beautiful and sexy.
palate was super well balanced with mid+ acidity, silky milky tannins and mid+ finish.

As the wine breathed in the glass, the nose gradually intensified slowly. Just dense concentrated perfume.

I thought this was an absolutely stunning wine: purity of the fruits, super dense and focused perfume with an underlying complexity I don’t quite know how to describe. And that nearly perfect palette.
