At the Ohana NYE countdown party.

THIS. WINE. IS. SO. GOOD.

I’ve loved this since the first time I’ve tried this, and still think this is an absolute monster of a wine every single time after.

Decanted for about an hour.

In the glass: this is a deep garnet with browning at the rim. Surprisingly thin meniscus. Mid- body.

On the nose: this gets me every time. This dark intensely penetrating nose of blackcurrant and cherries with that distinctly emidio funk at the background. Highly concentrated. Super complex and I don’t have the vocabulary to describe this fully. I just love the way its nose floods the nasal cavity and lingers.

On the palate: in spite of looking light bodied in the glass, the wine is rich and silky on the palate. High acidity, long finish. Balanced.

I was very patient and nursed my glass for a long time, and the funk receded to give way to notes of cedar

This wine is just drop dead gorgeous.
