With Hart, Brandon, QH, Charmaine, Jeff, Maisy and BSG.

Brandon introduced me to the magic of Huet’s vouvray, specifically the Le Mont. Those wines can age ridiculously well. Of course, he introduced me to the LHL as well. This was supposed to be the wine that was made to be most ready to drink young, and have more expression of fruits.

In the glass: this was a rich gold with clear body.
On the nose: this was the biggest difference from the Le Mont – rich fruits of green apple, peaches, dark citrus. Notably, it doesn’t have nearly that distinct stony minerality which i actually enjoy and seek out more.
On the palette, crispy high acidity, surprisingly long mid+ finish that’s juicy and a very nice balance of fruits. Off dry, despite being sec. I would always choose a sec over a demi-sec if given a choice.

Overall, very delicious wine, and actually an almost perfect transition from the champagne earlier. That said, the Le Mont suits my palate more.
