With Hart, James and Sungku at my place, after Le Clos.
This is my 2nd or 3rd bottle of the same vintage, and I noticed a fair bit of inter-bottle variation. Hm.
As previously noted: this needs a fair bit of air to open up.

In the glass: deep garnet. This bottle looked quite a bit more brickish than the previous bottle.

On the nose: the first thing that stood out to me was that this had substantially more tertiary notes than the other. Mild funk. The rich red fruit had developed a slight prune, and very distinct savoriness to it. Dried mushroom tinge. Slight TCA type notes. Otherwise, cherry dominant.
On the palate: acidity remains mid+. The body on this was still quite palate-coating, with mid+ finish. However, this didn’t quite have that rich silkiness I experienced in the other bottles.
I still found this very pleasurable and suitable for my palate, but this has clearly aged considerably more than my previous bottles.
Bonus photos of the cork, and the mold forming on the label (I had applied the plastic protector when the label was still wet from condensation).
