On a perpetual quest to find Hart’s birth-year wines. On one hand, I’m glad Hart isn’t any younger: would be weird. On the other hand, these older wines are so expensive. Merp

I trawled through a dozen wine stores in Manhattan and Boston but was unsuccessful.

Came across this: not something I would typically spend for myself, but Hart’s 30th? I think it’s deserving of a little treat, no?

Cos d’Estournel is one of the two Second Growths from St Estephe. Of course, I adore Montrose, but have never mustered the courage to buy a CosD. Super curious to see how this actually tastes like!!! While Montrose typically has a near equal part Cabernet Sauvignon to Merlot ratio (which always surprises me…), CosD is much more typical left bank with >60% Cab; this specific vintage was 60% cab and 40% Merlot.

Good thing is I have about 1.5 weeks to let this little guy rest in my fridge before we have to take it out.
