Both shared with Brandon.
Of course, Brandon was the one who taught me about Maggie, and her Lillian and Antica Terra.
I’ve had the Lillian Syrah 2013 I think 4 times now, but only actually got to discover how shockingly complex and delicious the wine was at my last tasting. It’s wild. We’ve since shared a 2013 Gold, 2018, and now we add this 2020 Gold. The only problem is: the 2013 is just at its peak drinking window with more legs to go, so I suspect we won’t get to touch the latter 2 for a very very long time.
Brandon was unfortunately unenthused that our friendship has progressed to jointly-aging wines. Dick.
The Botanica: funny enough, Brandon and I already shared 1 exact bottle. The wine is far, far too young to be drank now. But then Grand Cru was running a huge sale on this wine (which is supposedly insanely hard to source even in the US), and so now we have not one, but two extremely young Botanicas.
