With Hart, Donald and Connie at Park90.

Tried to pick a Chambolle-Musigny and a Volnay as the second wine. Everything I picked ended up being sold out. The somm steered me towards the Pommard

In the glass: there’s some weird color correction by my iPhone, but this was a light and bright ruby pink. Very light bodied – lighter than even the previous German Pinot.

On the nose: YUM. This was straight up rose petals on inhale, strawberries on exhale, with a light little creaminess + irony and minerality. Delicious and charming, although closed initially

On the palate: despite its liiiiiight visual weight, this was a structured wine, with chewy tannins. Wine was tight initially, and needed a fair bit of air. High acidity. Just a juice chewy wine. Cherries on exhale.

With the luxury of time (eg 2 people sharing a bottle), prolly would’ve been fine to let the wine slow-ox in the bottle and in the glass. But in a larger group, probably better to just serve a fat pour into everyone’s glass to breathe, or decant early on.
