I don’t understand the level of enthusiasm and good reviews for the wine on CT and elsewhere. I found this wine incredibly unpleasant and flawed.

In the glass: deep dark inky purple.

On the nose: initially this was promising – rich blackcurrant. Oak was fairly well balanced.
On the palate: just an overwhelmingly unpleasant finish. It’s bitter, and just. Flawed.

Also, as the wine aired in the glass for about 10mins, it actually ended up losing almost all of its nose?? This was consistently observed by others.

I don’t understand the difference between the reviews and my personal taste. The issues I observed don’t seem to come from a bottle flaw (eg taint, heat damage), and appears to be more reflective of the winemaking and terroir. Or maybe I’m an idiot. In either case, terrible wine.
