With Hart at WineBar Paribus

A super Tuscan, with 75% cab sauv, 18 cab franc and 7% Merlot. My first time trying this winemaker 🙂

In the glass: deep dark almost inky ruby, with dark core. Surprisingly tiny meniscus for an absolute baby of a wine.

On the nose: puuuuuure intense Cabernet. Super concentrated. Blackberries and blackcurrants. A ton of new oak. Vanilla. Spice. On the inhale, alcohol was not obtrusive at all, which is surprising given the 15% abv and I’m usually overly sensitive.

On the palate: high concentration of fruits. Full bodied. Rich. HIGH alcohol, but fairly well integrated. Mid+ acidity. Long finish. Also very high alcohol on the exhale.

If you like the BIG ripe oaked and concentrated American cabs, you’re gonna think this is a phenomenal wine. It is undeniably well made. But this is once again too intense for my meek palate.
