This was…. A tough call.

I have a meek wimpy palate. There, I admit it. I’m very sensitive to alcohol, and find my sweet spot to be around 13-13.5%.

Historically, Chateau Margaux hovers in that perfect sweet zone, and is known to be the most elegant of the first growth.

So, when I saw that the 2019 was an elevated 13.9% (thankfully not at the obscene 14.5-15% range), I was super reluctant to grab it. But then I saw the obscene scores across the board, and more importantly Jancis Robinson’s 18.5+ score, I decided it was worth the gamble.
