Belated birthday dinner at @bacchic.co with the wine hoes.

Yummmmmm. Wine of the night for me.

In the glass: the photo is misleading. It isn’t nearly as garnet as it looks there. This was quite a bit more ruby, although it was distinctly more garnet toned than the previous bottle. Clear.

On the nose: dried cranberry, some assortment of berries. Cherries. Unlike the previous burg which was bright primary red fruits, there was a certain richness and depth to the nose, almost a tiny peek of tertiary tones. Not quite barnyard. Spices. Earth. I would be surprised if there was much, if any, stem inclusion in this one. As a side note, this is great use of oak. So subtle. Good on the winemaker.

On the palate: ah, the savior of the night. Bear in mind, we used the exact same glass as the previous. But this? On entry, it is palate-coating, and so INCREDIBLY juicy. Mid+ acidity. Fresh on the palate. Siiiiilky with fine tannins that are a touch grippy but releases quickly. On the exhale? Just pure red fruits with a touch of oak.

This was a damn enjoyable wine.
