Belated birthday dinner at @bacchic.co with the wine hoes.

What a… shame. How does a wine have such a beaaaautiful nose, but such a disappointing palate!

In the glass: beautiful bright ruby. Clear. Light bodied.

On the nose: oh, so intensely and brightly aromatic. What I love in a burg. It was sour cherries, just an assortment of red berries, touch of red currant, and get this: POMEGRANATE JUICE. Tiny oak. Spices. As the wine breathed, that red fruits just kept intensifying into this laser.

On the palate: UM. Well. What happened here. Bone dry. Finish was short, and dropped off very abruptly. Didn’t matter how long it breathed. More annoying, there’s just something wrong with the acidity. Some wines have this beautiful acidity that gives it energy and brightness. Others give it a warm glow. This was a weird dull sour that I hated. James felt the same way too.

Ah, what a shame! How can something smell so beautiful taste so disappointing. Oh well
