Bottle from me, with Hart, Tiara and Bradian at their place.

Cork was in sublime condition. This bottling confused me. Slow-oxed for 2.5 hours.

In the glass: photo is slightly misleading. This was a deep ruby, with only mild garnet at the rim. Mid bodied.

On the nose: right off the bottle, this was a rich blackberry, black cherries, touch of smoke, sweet oak. That said, as the wine breathed in the glass, it underwent a huge transformation over a 10-20 mins period. A certain green olive / vegetal note emerged and intensified. It’s not quite anything I’ve ever smelled before. Hart noticed this too. A mix of vegetal and cedar note (but not vegetal like a Sauvignon Blanc). I can’t quite place this, and i wasn’t sure if I had over-aired the glass. It was still pleasurable, but it confused me.

On the palate: oh, silky silky fully resolved tannins. Purity of fruits and intensity on the palate. Mid/mid- acidity. This is probably at its plateau: while it has the fruits to age further, I don’t think it has the acidity for it. Drink now. Also suggest to limit aeration to 30-60mins before drinking, and let this open up on the glass.
