With the crew at the 2025 Christmas Celebration

Ah, you delicious little bugger.

In the glass: dark ruby maroon that’s almost inky. Rich, full bodied.

On the nose: we’ve had this many times, and the Lillian usually required an obscene amount of air to come into balance. This time was a little different: slow oxed for about an hour, and took maybe 15-20 mins in the glass to bloom. This lean intense black fruit, coupled with that very savory note of blood, iron, minerality. This time round, there was a distinct smokiness that was so pleasurable. This is deep, intoxicating, decadent, supremely complex and so well balanced.

On the palate: mid++ acidity, silky rich dense body that somehow remains quite focused. Palate coating. Loooong finish. So much intensity of fruit. Alcohol this time felt even more well integrated.

This is such a good wine. I have two in the fridge – gonna try and see how old I can push this fella to.
