My first Syrian wine! Syria was supposed to be one of THE oldest wine growing region in the world. A blend of majority Syrah, and minority parts Cab Sauv and Merlot.

In the glass: deep inky fully bodied.
On the nose: fresh off the bottle, this was pure intense sweet blackcurrant, almost like Ribena syrup. But as the wine breathed, the savory and earthy Syrah crept forward. Touch of creamy vanilla oak. Touch of cedar.
On the palate: wew. High intense alcohol. High intensity of fruit, but sorta muddled. Structured, powerful, and just too much for my meek palate. Long finish.
