With Hart and family at the excellent Ibid.

I’ve been on the hunt for a banging Tasmanian Pinot, ever since the delicious Sinapius. This glass was a generous sampler from the somm(?)

In the glass: mid- bodied maroon with a garnet rim.

On the nose: fresh in the glass: this was so intense blackberries and sweet it almost came across, meh. But this wine transforms after sipping on the exhale – a completely different little bugger. Earthy herbs, deep black tea leaves. Cloves. Super mind bending. Don’t think these aromatics worked well for everyone, but I was intrigued.

On the palate: mid/mid- acidity, mid finish, and surprisingly mid silky body with intense fruits on the palate.

I wish I had more time to sit around on this.
