With the crew for NYE celebration.
Bottle from James’ stash.
After the deeeelicious 07 Barbaresco Riserva Quidicianni bottling… you know I’m excited to try this. I’m gonna speak outta ignorance here / parrot what I’m told (because I’m too lazy to research). This is apparently made from a Nebbiolo Rose, which is a related vine to… the…. Normal Nebbiolo grape? Idk.
On the nose: flowers, and STRAWBERRY CANDY. Sweet. Cherries. Tinge of licorice. Grainy stones.
On the palate: oh, a surprisingly dose of residual sugar! Thankfully, the wine had ample acidity to balance it. Grippy tannins that weren’t offensive at all. High intensity of fruits. Surprisingly loooong finish despite the mid- body. Energetic.
This was such a fun cheeky little wine. I don’t usually have much tolerance for too much residual sugar, but the balance of its nose, fruits and everything else made this super enjoyable. Yum. Now I need to find the price to get a sense of the QPR.
