With Hart, Bradian, Tiara, Jessica and Eric at Hart’s birthday!

A gamble that did not pay off. Just too young I reckon, or perhaps just needed a crazy amount of air to be ready.

In the glass: a very deceptively light bodied ruby-garnet.

On the nose: super meek off the bottle. I did order this at the start and asked to uncork it immediately. But thankfully with air in the glass, this got a fair bit richer. Sweet roses, licorice, spices, med herbs, and balanced oak. That said, this was still fairly meek for throughout the course of the night. Elevated alcohol

On the palate: this was a very tannic wine. Not unpleasantly aggressive, but this was a lot. Touch of residual sugar, high intensity of fruits, an a surprisingly mild mid acidity. Couple of points: 1) this would’ve benefited from being served at a lower temp; 2) this needed food to manage the tannins. I would not drink this alone.

Ok la. I think this isn’t really a bottle to rush into at the restaurant. For one, it is far too young. For another, I don’t think we really saw the full potential given the limited air and temp.
