With Hart at Odette for anniversary

This is a bit of a crazy wine. 6 months of appassimento and a decade in barrel.

In the glass: viscous. Dark garnet, with a bright orange rim.

On the nose: what a crazy little thing. Yes, there’s notes of raisin. Yes it’s sweet. But there was also this explosion of cloves, smokiness/incense.

On the palate: tons of sugar! Elevated alcohol although quite well and thoroughly masked by the sugar.

Im not a sweet wine fan, but this was a crazy little thing. Delicious.
