With Hart et al at the 5xM ROM party

Man, I'm not exaggerating: this bottle took at least 4-5 hours of aeration to really open up. But when it did, it was delicious.

In the glass: this light bodied, garnet with a bright orange rim

Fresh off the bottle: cranberry, and this weird medicinal blend of licorice, tar that was in theory typical of the grape and wine, but just felt off. The wine was still very very structured. Tiny touch of residual sugar.

I checked in on this bottle repeatedly over the course of 4-5 hours. While it does improve considerably with time in the glass, it only really crossed the line at about the 5 hours mark when most of us had forgotten about the bottle.

By the time we got to it, the red fruits of cherries, cranberry had intensified and became so much more aromatic, and the wine's fruits and medicinal quality finally came into balance. It was great.

Still an absolute baby of a bottle. Gonna leave the other untouched for a while.
