With Hart and the crew at Hayop for James’s birthday.

In the glass: a deep rich ruby, with slight translucence
On the nose: this reminded me of a barbera for some reason. Anyway. Dark cherries, blackcurrant, tiny touch of Christmas spice and licorice (I think?). Extremely primary and sweet.
On the palate: a surprising dose of residual sugar. Super juicy with a mid+ acidity. A surprisingly pleasurable tannin profile – just there to give it enough structure but not one bit offensive. Extremely red fruited on the palate. A fair bit of heat on the exhale.
