With Hart and the wine hoes at Twelve Flavors round 2

Oh, my. What a delicious little bugger. Brandon first let me have a splash of the 2017 several months back, and it was delicious. Fresh, a spark of stemmy-spice, and bright red fruits. So I went on this little adventure to pick up a couple of other vintages and signed up for allocation.
The 2016 is a different animal, and it’s soooooo good.

In the glass: a darkish ruby with a tinge of garnet, dark core. Mid bodied.

On the nose: fresh off the bottle, it smelled a little, off. Almost a little oxidized with a bruise fruit character. I was so bummed. By thankfully with 2-3 hours of slow ox in the bottle, this transformed in the glass. This waft of rich, sweet dark red berries, and very ripe strawberries. A soft and delicate waft of sweet plush oak. Touch of spice. It’s just such a plush and soft and sweet nose. It’s dark, a little sultry. Just. Noice.

On the palate: mid++ acidity that’s bright and juicy. Despite the low 12.5% alcohol, man this wine just had this lush and silky body, with tannins that are perfectly resolved.

This bottle also had immense stamina in the glass: its aromatics just kept intensifying over the course of the dinner.

That said, this needs to be served and drank slightly chilled. It came across a little flabby towards the very end when the bottle got to room temp.
