WHAT MISFORTUNE. WHAT TRAGEDY.

This was supposed to be the highlight of the dinner.

Fill looked decent for a 1995. Cork was healthy (despite the breakage).

Color was… very light garnet with a fair bit of browning. Not an immediate red flag, but it is very developed.

Fresh off the bottle…. Well. A huge waft of. Earthy muskiness. Maybe it needed to breathe…?

Nope. This was all wet cardboard. Wine was extremely dry and flat with no traces of fruit.

Sad.
