With Hart, Sean, Tabs, Ben and SM at my Christmas dinner. Wine was courtesy of Sean and tabs.
Good ole beaucastel – people like CDPs because they are round, soft, rich and easy drinking. The problem is a lot of CDP end up being a messy blob of flabbiness. But not Beaucastels.

On the nose: this is a classic slight funk, cranberry. Plum that remains well distinct. Round nose.
On the palate: despite the rich roundness of ripened red fruits, the palate remained lean, well structured with soft tannins. Faint licorice on exhale.
My only complaint was that the alcohol was slightly jarring and not as well integrated as you would expect from a beaucastel. But damn, these guys always do a good job.
