I still find paying >S$500 for any bottle of wine to be obscene. It’s certainly far above what’s remotely reasonable for my income. That said, I’ve always wanted to own just a singular bottle of a first growth; just so that at some point in the distant future I’ll actually have the experience of understanding how first growths taste.

Ended up grabbing one at the EOY sales for what’s essentially 40% off retail, and nearly at en primeur price. Not a bad deal for a 99 pointer, and having borne no opportunity cost or vintage risk.
