At Shawn’s birthday with the crew at Violet Oon.
Peranakan food is a tough pairing with something as delicate as a Beaujolais. The food is just too intensely aromatic.

In the glass: bright ruby with a purple tinge. Mid- – body. Clear.
On the nose: cherries and blackberries. A lift of freshness. Minerality. Unsure if it was the food, but I found the nose to be a touch shy.
On the palate: juicy and bright with a great acidity. A touch of tannin that gives it a nice bit of structure.
Pleasantly enjoyable. Hope to taste it one day with a cleaner palate.
