With Hart and James at mine.
Experimental bottle from the folks at @luigiswines as part of my continued hunt for good Nebbiolos
Slow-oxed for an hour, and drank slowly over 1.5 hours.

In the glass: bright ruby core with garnet rim. Light body that’s fully translucent.
On the nose: fresh off the bottle after an hour of slow ox, the wine was a touch too cold, and the nose was extremely closed. Largely purely stony minerality. Just a touch of red fruit but barely. As the wine breathed and warmed in the glass, it got increasingly sweeter, and the red fruits (sour cherries, raspberries) really intensified. A touch of floral note. Some sorta stemmy spice. Still high minerality.
On the palate: very grippy mid+ tannins, mid+ acidity, and mid+ finish. Body was mid/mid-. Tart red fruits.
I tried the 2015 Bramaterra recently – this had a deeper more savory aroma and was quite charming, except it got really oddly flat after breathing in the glass. This 2018 was a very different wine and much more charming overall.
That said, I don’t think anyone could possibly blind taste this and figured it was a Nebbiolo dominant blend (can’t rmb the exact blend). That super uncharacteristic burst of minerality, and a certain stemmy spiciness?? I don’t know if I’m mis-tasting this. Shrug.
