With Hart at Sage.

A well aged Echezeaux that was just a flaw(?) away from being great.

In the glass: the age shows. The wine is a distinct garnet with significant bricking at the rim. Mid- body.

On the nose: black plums, cherries, forest floor, distinct oak-spice, earthiness. Touch of funk from its age. Complex. Deep. The thing that perhaps bugged me a little was the extent of VA + stewed fruit that seems a touch off?

On the palate: oh, my. Silky, and just powdery powdery tannins. My gosh. High intensity of fruit on the palate. Long finish, with so much fresh acidity (mid+). The palate was just remarkable.
