I continue to be captivated by San Leonardo. This is even better than the 2006.

On the nose: this intense purity of fruits: black currants and a ton of bright red plums. A hit of tobacco and cedar (noticeable higher than the 2006 or 2000) Minerality. Earth. This vintage has an intensity and youthfulness that exceeds the 2006 by a significant margin.

On the palate: intense, palate coating, mid+ acidity. Surprisingly, while this still had the same minty freshness on the palate (just the most captivating aspect of San Leonardos..), it wasn’t quite as intense as the 2000. Long finish. Supremely silky tannins with good structure

Absolutely stunning wine, and just a perfect match for my palate.

Give this another few years and I think this will be magic.
