With Hart, YZ, Sloke at @thewinemonk tasting.

I was VERY keen to try the 1999. For context: the 2000 we had previously was deeeep into its tertiary development, much like the 2005. While deeply enjoyable, I prefer more primary fruits in the mix. So I was trying to figure out if my sweet spot for San Leonardos were limited to 15-20yrs, or if there was potential to stretch it into the 25 or 30 years range.

Thankfully, the 1999 showed well, and a better balance of tertiary development while retaining some primary fruits. This. Was. Delicious.

THAT SAID, this did not have the concentration of the 2000, 2003 or 2005. This was considerably more elegant and delicate.
