With Hart, YZ, Sloke at @thewinemonk tasting.

Jumping into flight 3 was this escalation in experience. The 2005 is well matured, showing marked tertiary development. The balsamic earthiness was in full bloom here, with the fruits starting to develop a slight dried fruit tone to it. This reminded me almost exactly of the 2000 we had previously.

Very high intensity on the nose and palate. Tannins are very resolved. This would’ve been in contention for the wine of the night with the 2018, except for what came after…
