With Hart at the Crystal Wine tasting.

In the glass: a bright ruby, with barely any signs of age. Fascinating.

On the nose: sweeeeet intense dark toned fruits, blackcurrant. Extremely primary, with this aromatic spice and oak. This just smell so fleshy, so sweet and just a touch jammy.

On the palate: distinct structure, but there is a fleshiness to it. The tannins here are super obvious, but very soft and fine. Acidity is mid+, but isn’t quite the bright freshness of the 1995, which seems almost counter-intuitive. Extremely red fruited on the palate. Mid+ finish.

Extremely delicious, but not my favorite
